Play List

Among many things, I make music, sound pieces, and sound installations.
I've exhibited my work primarily in California and I've performed all over the United States.

My collage work began with a 4-track and a Casio SK-8. I then migrated to digital and used SoundEdit-16 and then on to ProTools. I normally wouldn't bring this up, but when I listen to these pieces I hear the interface along with the sound. I hear hiss and clips and bold layering. Among these examples, a few experiment with language abstractions, others phasing and they all share loop strategies.

My band music is normally categorized as "math rock" or "art punk". I add sonic elements, samples, melodic lines. I view my contribution to the bands I'm in as "adding"; creating additional counterpoints. This is in rhythm, melody or texture. My instruments will vary, but I'm comfortable on ones with keys and hopfully knobs. I am a knob turner. I will make noise. I love to harmonize. I enjoy music that weaves around itself.
